 November 2018
Sun 4th
10.00 am
Rimington, Downham 5 miles. This is an easy circular walk of approximately 5 1/2 miles from Downham near Clitheroe with Pendle Hill as a fantastic backdrop. It is more a gentle stroll through rolling meadows and gurgling streams with no boggy ground than an encounter with a steep hillside.
I propose to start from the main car park (with its award winning loos) at 10.45. The walk should take a little less than 3 hours – ideal for the shorter late autumn days – allowing everyone to drive home in reasonable daylight.
Meet there or at usual car park in Lancaster at 10.00 am.
Sun 11th

The weather forecast is very bad, so we have decided to cancel this walk.

Clapham, Austwick, 6 miles easy.
Meet at the usual Lancaster car park at 9:30 am or Clapham (near Ingleton) church at 10:15 ish.
Depending on the weather, we will either do a walk of approx 6 miles out to the Norber erratics, then to Crummack and back via the limestone pavement and nature trail to Clapham, or a shorter walk to the Norber erratics and then back via Austwick. There are a couple of steep and short climbs but nothing major.
If anyone is coming can they please let me know by 8pm on Friday 23rd so I can organise the transport. Tony & Judith 01524 923889 or 07402 177946

The Met Office weather forecast for Sunday is not looking good, heavy rain and winds. If this doesn’t change over the next few days, I will let everyone know if we have to cancel the walk.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WALK IS NOW CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER.

Fairy Steps, Beetham 6 miles easy
My walk this Sunday (9th December) will be Beetham, Slackhead and the Fairy Steps (4.75 miles) mainly through woodland. The walk is easy and will start from the car park at the rear of the paper mill at 10.30 am, and should take less than 3 hours in plenty of time before darkness descends. Obviously the weather will play a big part as storms are again forecast for the weekend so keep your eyes on the latest bulletins. However, as of Wednesday pm, the forecast is looking very good for Sunday.
Meet at carpark to the rear of the paper mill at 10.30 am, or usual carpark near Sainsburys in Lancaster at 9.30 am.
Contact Mike on 07720186041 or 01524 734867.
