Walk Details for Sunday 28 November 2021

Arnside Knott, 5 miles. Start at 10am, Arnside Promenade on Sunday 28th November

Meet by 10am on Arnside Promenade, opposite the Albion pub and next to the pier.
(There is plenty of car parking spaces either on the promenade or on the road leading to it).
The walk will follow the coast path from Arnside to New Barns along the beach, and then cut into the woods and pick up the coast path to Far Arnside.
At Far Arnside we join a path to Hollins Farm, then a steep climb up the hill to Arnside Knott.
From here there is a choice of paths back down towards the village, and the car park.
The terrain will be a mixture of beach, woodland and low fell, with some climbing. The path may be wet and muddy in places, especially after rain or high tide.
The grade is medium, due to the climbs, and the total distance is about 5 miles, so 3 – 4 hours walking.
Dogs on leads are welcome, the usual Covid restrictions will apply (see home page) and please ensure you bring the correct weather and footwear for a winter walk, along with plenty of food and drink.
There will a short coffee break, and also a lunch stop..
Walking poles are recommended, and be aware there can be a cold wind and chill factor from the sea.
Maximum number of 15 people, and please contact Tony (07402177946 or [email protected]) before 8pm on Friday 26th to confirm availability.
