Next Sundays Walk 15 May 2022

This last Sunday saw yet another excellent walk from Calder Vale taking in the bluebell woods followed by breathtaking views over the Fylde Coast. The bluebells were stunning this year and when the sun came out made the views superb. A good turnout ensured a very successful and enjoyable walk and we thank Steve and Barbara for leading us through the wonderful scenery, thank you.

Now next weeks walk is:

Arnside and Beetham 8 miles Easy Height 250ft

Meet at Heron Mill Car Park Beetham at 10.30am (Parking £2.00 in honesty box)

Striking out north into Dallam Park, then past Dallam Tower to the estuary. Along the estuary towards Arnside, diverting off the main road, at one point, to Storth. At Arnside station we go uphill to the church then across Arnside F.C grounds. We then head downhill to the railway crossing then follow a straight line across fields, then woods, to the Fairy Steps. These can be tricky as they are very narrow and steep but very short! Once into the woods beyond we take a right turn at the crossroads to Slackhead. The walk ends downhill across fields into Beetham village then The Heron Mill.

To book your place please contact Viv on 07542190864 by text or email before Friday 13th May.

Walk limited to 15 people.

Booking is ESSENTIAL. You must book directly with the leader (usually by 8.00 pm on the Friday prior to the walk) as once the walk is fully booked there will be a waiting list. Also if you turn up on the day without booking you will be refused on the walk. If you have booked on a walk and find you are unable to attend please let the walk leader know as soon as possible so that the place is available to someone else.

We are trying to car share as much as possible, both to conserve fuel and because there is often limited parking at the start of a walk.  See Lancaster Walking Group WhatsApp group either to offer a lift, or to see if a lift is available for that walk.
